Ovidio and Judith are always on hand to help you achieve your sailing goals


Ovi – Yachtmaster Instructor and Principal of Club Yachting

Ovi completed his Fast track with Club Yachting and then went on to become a Yachtmaster Instructor teaching all levels of courses up to Yachtmaster Offshore for Sail.

After running Soul Sailors for a while he combined Club Yachting and Soul Sailors and now runs Club Yachting with his wife Judith.

With a relaxed teaching style he makes learning to sail fun, and relaxes those students preparing for Yachtmaster Offshore.

Mike Stewart

Mike – Yachtmaster Instructor Sail, Motor and Powerboat-Chief Instructor of Clubyachting

Mike joined Club Yachting back in 2006 as a Cruising Instructor, shortly afterwards becoming a Yachtmaster Instructor for Sail and Power, as well as our Chief Instructor.

In 2013 he decided to go back to the UK – but Mike missed Tenerife so much that in 2016 he has returned to teach sailing, motor and powerboats.

As always he is a great asset to the team, and with his depth of experience is an experienced instructor across all disciplines, as well as a VHF (SRC) Instructor and Chief Instructor for Powerboats.


Choko – Cruising Instructor for sail and shore based theory instructor

Choko completed his Fast Track course during 2015 and 2016 and became a Cruising Instructor in autumn 2016.

With his easy going and enthusiastic style he is always keen to pass on his knowledge both out on the water and in the classroom.


Nick – Cruising Instructor Sail

Nick graduated university as an IT engineer and later from a mar­itime academy as an I&C­ engineer. He worked on various vess­els in the Caspian and continued his care­er as an IT manager for a major oil company. At the same tim­e, yachting was always­ his passion and ther­efore from 2011 he focused on sailing. In 2014 he moved to the C­anaries from Azerbaij­an, became a Cruising Instructor and forked as freelance skipper and then joined Club Yachting. He is ­a native Russian speake­r and is fluent i­n both English and Spanish­. Nick is an easy goi­ng, friendly individual with a great sense of­ humour, with real passion for the ocean.

Andrey Raikov

Andrey – Yachtmaster Instructor Sail

Andrey passed his Yachtmaster Offshore with us back in 2006, and shortly afterwards became a Cruising Instructor for sail, followed by Shorebased Theory Instructor.

In 2013 he became a Yachtmaster Instructor, and teaches all levels from Competent Crew to Yachtmaster. He spends the winter months in the warmth of the Canaries, and the Summer sailing in the Mediterranean, and this year also will be skippering a Dufour 455 in the Baltic.

With his all round abilities, and sound seamanship, he us a valuable member of the team.

Adam Clark

Adam – Cruising Instructor for sail and power

Adam joined us back in 2008 as an Intern and worked his way to Yachtmaster Offshore with us. He spends most of his time fixing engines, and repairing yachts of all shapes and sizes - but as a Cruising Instructor for sail and power (a a superb boat handler) he also teaches and skippers on milebuilding weeks.
