An ICC is the International Certificate of Competence.  It is basically a licence to drive a boat.  There are three types:
  • An ICC for a powerboat (i.e. a RIB) which is up to 10m long;
  • An ICC for a powerboat up to 24m long (i.e. a motor cruiser, often with twin engines);
  • An ICC for a sailing yacht up to 24m long (included in this is the ICC for a 10m powerboat).
The easiest way to get the ICC is to do a course: the RYA Powerboat level 2 for the powerboat up to 10m; the RYA Day Skipper (Motor) for a powerboat up to 24m; and the RYA Day Skipper Sail for a sailing vessel.
If you have a lot of experience you can just do the ICC test with us.
We can let you have an application form and help you complete it at the end of your course.
